Connect/Gateway panel guide: Tyco Fireclass/MX/MZX/Zettler

Equipment required

From Nimbus

  • A Nimbus Connect or Fixed Gateway device
  • A Tyco MX/MZX/Fireclass panel connector (part no 201-303-02)

From the panel manufacturer/3rd party

  • Screened data cable
  • Consys v25.0 or later

 

Panel configuration

  1. Set the panel baud rate to 9600
  2. Set Comm Port 1 to Printer or TPI mode
    1. When configured as a printer, comm 1 outputs 2 lines of ASCII data
    2. When configured as a TPI, comm port 1 outputs 3 lines of ASCII data
  3. Ensure Paper Width is set to Standard (80)
  4. Enable Quiescent Logging

The configured mode must match that of the equipment in the Nimbus Web Portal to enable communications.

Note that TPI mode includes a heartbeat to enable communications path monitoring.

 

Wiring

  1. Connect the Tyco MX/MZX/Fireclass panel connector to Comm Port 1
  2. Using screened data cable wire to the Nimbus RS232 as follows
