Using Control Room Monitor (CRM)
Control Room Monitor (CRM) is an alarm handling desktop application.
In this screen shot you can see:
- At the top we are logged in as Admin.
- We are monitoring 1 site, which is online and healthy.
- There are 5 FIRE ALARM events.
- 3 are green which are cleared events.
- 1 is yellow which is an acknowledged event.
- 1 is red which is a new event. This is red because it is a FIRE ALARM but could be another colour based on the event type.
At the very right hand side of the screen show you will see 3 buttons:
- View Details appears for cleared events, which allows you to view the events details and who cleared it and other details.
- If the event is new then you will be presented with the option to Acknowledge the event.
- If an event has been acknowledged you will be presented with the option to Clear the event.
When selecting an event, you will be presented with the below screen.
- If any graphics, maps or CCTV video have been configured then an additional area will be shown on the right of the dialog with tabs for each additional item of information.
- Any Instructions configured will show at the top of how to handle this alarm.
- The event details are shown below, the Type of event, location and the date.
- Then a list of actions are shown, such as the event being received from Nimbus and as shown above verification timers.
- This will put the event into a hold state, it will stop playing the alarm sound and give you time to investigate the alarm.
- This will be shared with Nimbus Notify users that you have acknowledged the event, same as if a Nimbus Notify user acknowledges the event (if the CRM is configured todo that).
- You must enter a comment about why you are acknowledging the alarm. Your installer can configure predefined acknowledgement options if you always select from a predefined list.
- This will clear the event, this will clear the event and show as cleared in the alarm list.
- Again this will be shared with Nimbus Notify users and clear from their applications. Same if a Nimbus Notify user clears the event it will clear from CRM (if the CRM is configured todo that).
- You must select from a predefined list of alarm causes, these vary on the event type (FIRE ALARM, FAULT, etc) or select other and enter the cause of the alarm.
- The alarm cause is feed back into Nimbus and can be used for reports in the future.
