About task templates

Nimbus allows you to define a list of tasks which are presented to the Engineer via the Nimbus Engineer App. These are mainly for servicing passive equipment with Nimbus Asset Management, but can also be used to configure end of service questions as well as customise failure, advisory, and unable to test comments for active equipment.

Tasks are defined in a tasks template which can then be used with multiple equipments. Typically you'll have a template for each type of asset, maybe more if you want to vary templates between assets of the same type.

Nimbus provides a set of default templates which you can use as a starting point:

  1. Emergency Lighting
  2. Emergency Lighting (auto-pass)
  3. Fire Extinguihers
  4. Fire Doors

Creating a new task template

The tasks template can apply to any equipment type but should be created specifically for each type of asset that you will service.

Creating a new task template

  1. Navigate to "Sites & Devices" in the Nimbus Web Portal
  2. Select the client you would like the template to apply to
  3. Click the "+" icon on the toolbar near the top of the screen
  4. Select "+ Add" next to Client or Site as required
  5. Input your template name and select factory copy if required
  6. Once complete, select "Save Changes"

Adding tasks to the template

Select task type

  • Task to follow - a generic task that the engineer should follow and then Pass or Fail the task
  • Weight within Tolerance - this is specific to Fire Extinguishers, this task will ask the engineer to enter the current weight of the Fire Extinguisher and if its within the tolerance set then it will allow the engineer to Pass the task, otherwise it will only allow Fail.
  • End service question - a question that is presented to the engineer at the end of the service visit.

Select which asset type this is associated with

  • All Fire Extinguishers - This task applies to any type of Fire Extinguisher, this allows for common tasks to be defined
  • All Emergency Lights - This task applies to any type of Emergency Light, this allows for common tasks to be defined
  • Emergency Lighting 30 min task (must pass or fail every device)
  • Emergency Lighting 180 min task (must pass or fail every device)
  • Emergency Lighting 30 min task (auto pass none failed devices)
  • Emergency Lighting 180 min task (auto pass none failed devices)
  • List of all Asset types defined - An entry for every asset type, so task applies only to this asset type
  • List of all Emergency Light types defined - An entry for every Emergency Light type, so task applies only to this Emergency Light type
  • List of all Fire Extinguisher types defined - 2 entries for every Fire Extinguisher. 1 for the Standard and 1 for the Extended service regiment as they can be different.
  • Conventional types are not currently listed, so can tasks can only be defined that apply to all types
  • None - applies to all types in the TOC

Once completed, select Add.
