nimbusGo panel guide: Protec 6500
Equipment required
From Nimbus
- A nimbusGo device connected to Nimbus Engineer App.
- A 2M Adapter Lead (part no 201-101-01).
- A Multi Panel (9 Pin D Male) Panel Adapter (part no 201-102-01).
- Optional: A Protec Port Isolator (part no 201-151-02).
From the panel manufacturer/3rd party
- n/a.
Panel configuration
Using the x600 Series Commissioning Application, select the panel that you are connecting to Nimbus and see the settings for the serial port in the options.
As in the below image, set the serial port to Graphics (V2) and the baud rate to 2400. When done correctly, this will cause the panel to go into a communications fault state.
You may require a firmware update to a newer version, such as v5.0310, for V2 to appear as an option.
Once servicing is complete, you can either restore the serial port to default via the software, or fit a Protec Port Isolator to the RS232 port to prevent the panel staying in fault while nimbusGo is not connected.
Panel connections
Connect nimbusGo to the RS232 connections on the interface via the 2M Adapter Lead and Multi Panel (9 Pin D Male) Panel Adapter. This is located on the back board of the Panel, next to the Master Controller Slot.
You will now see the panel LED on nimbusGo turn green, and "good" panel comms will be indicated in Nimbus Engineer.
